Dr. Crystal Rogers, Sayaun’s mother, reflects on the challenges she faced as a young single mother striving to achieve her career goals, while simultaneously navigating the responsibilities of single parenthood with Sayaun. Eligibility Requirements (must be all criteria)
- Non-traditional student attending a community college in NC, pursuing a career in health care sciences
- Single custodial parent
- Need based
- Letter of Acceptance from college
- Two Letters of Recommendation/Reference (employment manager, director, CC instructor)
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (HS or college transcripts as applicable)
- 600 to 650 word essay – Healthcare career goals-how single parenthood has motivated you in your journey thus far. Short and long-term goals.
- Bonus for community service and volunteerism
