Description of Award
This award aims to honor the life and legacy of Sayaun Dent and his extraordinary character by supporting students who embody Sayaun’s SMILE!

Eligibility Requirements (must meet all criteria)
- Participated in volunteerism and/or community service activities
- High School Senior (Bladen)
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (High School Transcripts)
- Accepted in an accredited 4 – year university with 12 or more credit hours and plans to begin in the fall of the award year
- Minimum of two letters of recommendation – (1from principal/teacher, 1 elected official, or 1 from coach) as it relates to the SMILE characteristics
- Letter of acceptance from college/university
- 500 to 550 word essay – Explain and describe how your character parallels with SMILE
